Hello
Southern organizer turned impact investor
Two years ago I joined New Media Ventures, an impact investment firm and the epicenter of progressive innovation, and now serve as its president.

I’ve spent twenty years at the intersections of politics, advocacy and technology. In that time, I’ve launched four small businesses, steered billions of taxpayer dollars, knocked on hundreds of doors across 44 states, and built pathways to power for proximate leaders in every role I’ve inhabited.

My career is centered on getting resources to people who are reimagining and building a better future - a future shaped by a thriving democracy, representational governance, responsible tech, and equal opportunities for underinvested communities.

I’ve worn a lot of physical and metaphorical hats in this life: journalist, organizer, designer, consultant, investor, founder, civil servant, political appointee, editor, puzzle maker even. All told, I just wanna see good people win. So I leverage my networks, experience, and positional power to put people in positions to do amazing things – and I’m great at it!

Hill that I’ll die on: Barbara Jordan is the best congressional orator in history.
